Seriously, wtf? Who wouldn't want to have a dumbwaiter system in their house??

OOoooh I've always wanted a dumbwaiter. ;u; I swear to god when I get my own house there'll be dumbwaiters and a secret room behind the bookcase (probably trip/smoke/art/chill room) and possibly a slide somewhere to go downstairs.
Fuck maturity, when I'm a homeowner I'll feel I've earned the right to a little immaturity.
I'd love one. Whenever I go around stately homes, I always keep an eye out for dumbwaiters. It'd be no use to me, though, because I live alone.
An ex-colleague worked for Fujitsu-Siemens and in their factory they had a little railway. You could push a button on your desk and a robot would come. Then you put a package on it (or whatever) and pressed a few buttons to tell it where it should be delivered (in the same factory). The idea was that it increased productivity by reducing the amount of time people were away from their desk or station. The English being the English, though, it rarely ever got used for its intended purpose. It did get used for other purposes, though.
Heh! You've got the idea. Most of the things that got sent didn't need to be sent, and weren't wanted at the other end.
Although the person on the station nearest the kitchen often used to get approached by a robot with a piece of paper in its hopper that said cup of tea, two sugars. Naturally, what got sent back was a coffee with one sugar. Then people got wise to it and asked for the opposite of what they wanted. Eventually one person asked for a coffee and this guy sent back a freshly poured pint of lager. The best one was someone asking for a hot drink and getting back a beach ball.
I had no idea what one was until I just looked it up. Hehe, I'm always impressed by stuff like this! If I got one, I seriously don't think the novelty would wear off. I don't think we need to give people more excuses to be lazy, though.
Ha, I don't even know why I'm so impressed by this, but I really am!:D
