Is what my sister saying making sense or

So my sister turns 21 in like a month and I’m 19.. obviously underage. We’ve always talked about how exciting it will be once she’s 21 so that we can finally drink together and at home and stuff. We’re super super close and practically bestfriends! Today, I asked her if she would get alcohol for me once she’s of age, just to quadruple check and she said yes but only if I buy her a bottle too ????? So I said is that your own rule or does everyone do that to their siblings and she said I’m pretty sure everyone does that. She also says that she’s not gonna get alcohol for me and my friends unless I get her a bottle also. So I asked her that if everytime I asked her to get a bottle for me, I would have to get a bottle for her too and she said yes.. So do I have like the right to be annoyed by that.. like is this just as stupid as it sounds to me ? Or is what she’s saying making sense to you guys ? lmao. Like I understand she’s doing me a favor but I still think that’s a little messed up bc she’s acting like we’re not siblings and I’m just some random that asked her to get me alcohol. Mind you guys, I would be buying the alcohol for my friends and I, NOT her. She just needs to show her ID and get it for me lmfao... but so yeah, what do you guys think? Do you agree/disagree and see mine or her point of view??

that makes no sense cause then you're just paying double. What kind of sister is that?!

I think you should give her the money for yours, and that's all. You shouldn't have to buy her a bottle.

Remind your sister SHE WILL BE LIABLE IF YOU OR ANY DRINKING BUDDIES GETS IN A WRECK OR KILLED. IF SHE'S OK WITH THAT THEN MORE POWER TO YA. years back it was not a big deal, these days however with all the pills teens are getting I would suggest she says no. But yes, the rule of thumb, You buy, she flies. You buy and she goes to get.

It doesn't make sense, cuz then..... you would get the bottle yourself and end of story

Ok. Everyone should know the answer. Gas money is the rule and she is entitled to some of your drink. Thats it. Period.

I could understand if you two were strangers, but that is weird to do that with family members. She's a right scrooge tbh.

I didn't do that to my little sisters, i just told them they had to give me some shots and i only took shots when i felt like it.
i think your sister is being greedy and i personally, dont know any one who does that.

I'm not American so I'm not sure how the system is there, but can you buy alcohol when you're 19? If so, why don't you just drink it?

In United States it's illegal to buy or drink alcohol until you are 21.

It's steep but it's not her responsibility to buy you alcohol, especially you being underage. I'm guessing she is just being greedy but if it were that she was trying to keep you disciplined, I'm sure you could restructure the deal.

20% mark up seems reasonable. When I was 21, I would buy alcohol for my 17 year old sister just to be nice. Most brothers are generally good at cheering up younger sisters.

It depends on who she is buy it for. If she is buying for just you to as you suggest in the first part of your post, then she should not charge you. If she is buying for your you and your friends then it is normal to pay extra. After all she is the one who could go to jail for providing alcohol to minors.

Have you never drunk alcohol before? Jeez, you could have easily broken the law a long time ago. Try some nice single malt scotch if you have good taste, or just some plain old fashion bourbon with coke. You might want to try some liquor, don't know if you guys have any good ones over there, not really familiarized with the American market.

Or you can go for a good bottle of red, white or green white or red, some champagne maybe.... I'd be cool if one of you learned how to make cocktails. Just avoid beer, it sucks drinking beer, for all reasons... Keep in mind that alcohol is calorie heavy, don't it can lead to weight loss on long term abuse. Anyways, have fun, i suggest researching all about the different kinds of alcoholic beverages available and how their made.
