I think you're missing one of the major characteristics of most vampires, the ability to seduce. I don't think seduction is rape but I can see how it can be misinterpreted as such.
Yes just like a psychopath. They appears charismatic and are often very popular but what people don't realize is that they are truly not so kind underneath. They also are very manipulative and I already mentioned this. YES A PSYCHOPATH CAN BE CHARMING!

Oh yeah like Ted Bundy, he was so charismatic that people did not believe the horrific allegations made against him when it was first revealed he was a serial killer.
I think there is a definitive difference though, between myth and man. Vampires are mythical creatures, you can't put the ethics of man on them. I appreciate the different perspective of this but I don't think you should put so much thought into fiction.
