Is vampires a metaphor for rape/abusive relationships/mental issues?

  • I think you're missing one of the major characteristics of most vampires, the ability to seduce. I don't think seduction is rape but I can see how it can be misinterpreted as such.

    • Yes just like a psychopath. They appears charismatic and are often very popular but what people don't realize is that they are truly not so kind underneath. They also are very manipulative and I already mentioned this. YES A PSYCHOPATH CAN BE CHARMING!

      • Oh yeah like Ted Bundy, he was so charismatic that people did not believe the horrific allegations made against him when it was first revealed he was a serial killer.

        I think there is a definitive difference though, between myth and man. Vampires are mythical creatures, you can't put the ethics of man on them. I appreciate the different perspective of this but I don't think you should put so much thought into fiction.
