The sense that humans rely on the most is the sense of sight, and it is from sight we get the most information about our environment, hence the first thing we recognize about someone is their appearance, and the information we are receiving from our sense of sight.
Its the same everywhere, if you look like shit people are gonna treat you like shit. If you are a handsome, in shape, well put together looking person, people will assume positive things about you.
