I think what she was trying to is that there are manipulative women who use that as a way to get what they want.
One of my ex best friends is a perfect example. She thought she was gods greatest gift and would seek out men who thought women were superior to feel like the ground she walked on was blessed.
You can state it in a different way as to not come across as patronizing or desperate. Think the tact your friend chose may have been a bit in your face.
