Is this normal? what could it be?

I was cooking lunch for my family when I suddenly felt dizzy, my head pulsed, my ears rang like crazy, I felt really hot, and my vision suddenly darkened like circles and it was pixilated. After that, I fell to my knees but tried to keep going by shoving myself to the sink and drinking water but stomach churned and I felt like I could throw up. I tried to sing to myself or walk or continue making lunch but it wouldn't go away and I just couldn't. I saw in the mirror that I was extremely pale. This entire thing lasted about 5-7 minutes and for like 7 minutes later my body (but mostly my hands) shook insanely. I know that if I had sat down as everything was happening I would have passed out.
So, is this normal? What could it be? Is it something I should tell the doctor about or just go on with life??

  • Woah, I've had this happen to me in school! I thought I was going to pass out or something. Not really sure what it was, but I had everything from the dark circles blocking vision, dizziness, shakes, and all that, I felt like I was gonna tumble over lol, which is uncommon for me for anything other than clumsiness, and one time my friend came over and she had it too, except... well she fell over and actually blacked out from it, and I didn't so... hopefully you don't!

  • This happened to me once when my son was only 4 months old. I told the doctor but he said it was something like... rigor something. All I could think of was rigormortis. It has never happened again but my hands shook so much I couldn't turn off the light switch. I may have been over tired and anaemic at the time though too.

  • Sounds like some REALLY IMPORTANT medical thing... or possesion. See someone.

  • Sounds like you were blacking out, this happened to me once when I cut myself by accident and I had to get some fresh air, maybe you weren't getting enough oxygen from leaning over the cooker? It would be worth telling your doctor

  • It could be a panic attack they sometimes happen out of the blue

  • If it just happened once and doesn't happen again, it was probably nothing to be concerned about. If it happens again, see a doctor.

  • Are you anemic by chance?

  • If it worries you, why wouldn't you see a doctor?

It could be a blood pressure thing, but I'm no medical expert...Maybe you should talk to one, don't you think?
