Yeah I don't see what the issue is here. He offered you the chance to reschedule and was not upset when you chose to leave. He said they ran out of gowns which depending on how they get the gowns they could have simply ran out.
If he didn't do things exactly how he usually does it might have been due to the nurses absence. Doctors sometimes ask the nurses to do side work and I don't see why it would be suspicious to say she went home sick one day.
I think you are overreacting but I get why you would be paranoid in a empty hospital. Everything you described sounds normal. I don't think he was trying to rape you. Though given the circumstances could see why it would bother you and you would want to reschedule.
