Is this an anxiety issue/disorder? PLEASE HELP .IIN?

  • I have a lot of anxiety sometimes and it was really bad in High School and my first semester of college. I hate to say this but they way I got over my problems (I was so shy I hardly even spoke and when I did it would sometimes be a whisper) the way I got over it was by taking small social tasks and just confronting them. I would make up that I was lost just so I had to ask a stranger for help that way when I really was lost I wouldn't practically pass out from anxiety and embarrassment at being lost before I could ask for help. I did the same with talking in class. I just made myself give small answers at first and then once I got used to that I made myself volunteer for speeches. You could always get professional help or talk to a school/campus counselor but for me it was just about confronting my fears and now I'm so used to talking to strangers and creating conversations in class, that I almost completely forget how I was before.
