Is this a normal sex life?

I often spend the night at my boyfriend's house, and he at mine. Often, before we go to sleep and sometimes when we awake as well, we will make love. We're both very afraid of pregnancy, currently, though, and neither of us are ready for it. Therefore, we have anal sex instead. We'll have oral sex on occasion also. I am technically a virgin in that regard, as is he. We're each other's first serious partners, and have been together for four months as of today. We love each other very much, and he has promised so much to me. I will not give our ages but know that we are both mentally and emotionally ready for what we have been doing. Is this normal?

if you're both satisfied with the arrangement, then keep doing what you're doing.

I second this one. Most people see anal and flip out. Anal isn't that bad if your careful, and it isn't hurting you. Some people I know prefer anal more than any other types. If your fine with it, its normal.

It's scary you never learned what a condom or birth control was.

Your ass wasn't made for sex - your pussy was. I think you guys should wait a bit.

It is actually pretty strange that you hold vaginal sex so high above the other variations. anal sex. Oral sex, all the same. It's sexual gratification at least in one way. Talk it all over with your bf, ready or not for actual vaginal sex I still say you do research on legitimate websites. There are so many false facts out there that when I hear a 16 year old tell me you can't get prego if your in water/first time/whatever it makes me wanna slap the girl. But anyways, all that will help prep yourself incase/when the time is right.

    Fun fact.
Some porn stars won't do anal haha

Get a condom. Why the hell would you have in in the ass before the vag? What do you define as ready?

I'm concerned that you two don't what birth control is. So do some research.

Of course we know what birth control is. We just want to be careful. I will have intercourse when I damn well want to, and not a moment sooner. Is it THAT odd to have anal before intercourse?

If you know what birth control is I don't understand why you're scared of getting pregnant. Intercourse tends to come before anal. And by 'tends' I mean most of the time. A couple that never has anal is much more common than one that only has anal. In fact, this is the only situation I've heard of where there was only anal. It doesn't seem like you're preserving your virginity, more like you skipped that step in your relationship and went straight to anal.

I think you have some anxieties and uncertainties about sex.
