Corporal punishment specifically spanking is generally classed as illegal worldwide.
There are only a couple of countries that still falsely think its a good idea (US and the Middle East)
ALL other countries have made it ILLEGAL as research has concluded (many times) that spanking your own child (insane I know) causes pain and fear. Its ridiculous to think that a loving parent would EVER think this is a good method.
I was spanked as a child MANY times. Pretty sure my own dad spanked me even when I laughed too loud, which seemed to be annoying for him.
But everyday seemed to have a good reason to spank us kids.
I am not an angry person, and I'm presently 'normal' (as much I understand) minded. So many tend to argue that it didn't hurt me.
WELL IT DID. Think back to when/if you were spanked as a child. It was SCARY, you likely CRIED, and it HURT, and later on your were both SAD and ANGRY. Great feelings to have for my own dad.
I hated my dad spanking me, and all it did was stop me from allowing my own young kids staying in his care alone EVER.
