my parents beat me a few times too but it wasn't all that bad. more threats and a lot of yelling. but honestly all that crap has honestly gotten us closer. it's like the worst is all over and done with and we all get along. (save my brother but we're talking about my parents here.)
i would say that the fact that i was beaten did not have an adverse effect on my adult relationship with my parents.
what makes beating kids wrong is after their beaten they're a little more violent inside. if their greatest role models think that beating them is alright then why can't the child beat the kid at school that called him a name?
violence begets more violence. and besides it's really annoying how bitchy parents force us adults to dumb down our shit to make it more "appropriate" for the life-style they've set out their children to have. then turn around and not let your kid play mortal kombat but you kick their asses? just seem illogical to me. i guess i got to wait and see. but no matter what i will never beat my kid. (as a child, i'm free to kick their asses once they grow up.)
