VERY unprofessional. If you can, try to find a different one.
I had a horrible experience with a therapist as a teen as well (well, that and a few psychiatrists; unfortunately, there are a LOT of very questionable people in these occupations), where I had been having intense suicidal thoughts and was telling her about them, as well as family issues, and she said "Are you on your period? You're being really bitchy today". This pissed me off and I told her to go to hell, slammed the door behind me and heard a bunch of her shit fall off of the wall, and left the place.
Is this a normal behavior from my therapist?
