On topic, yes. Say somebody drops something on the floor, I pick it up for them. I gain nothing in this process, I don't feel different emotionally, I don't gain anything physically, and the person who I helped I will almost certainly never see again, thus having no effect on me if I hadn't done anything at all. Would this not be unselfish, seeing as I have helped someone with no gain on my part, even if it is a miniscule difference?
