Is there any significance to what friends r displayed on ur profile pg

I heard some time ago that the friend show up on your/the Facebook profile page when you open it are the ones most recently or frequently contacted. I also heard that they are the ones that stalked by the person, or who is most frequently stalking them. I already know there's a way to "set" those people to have the same ones show up every time, but this is in regards to when it changes. Same thing when you open your/another person's friends list - the first ones listed are the ones who most recently or frequently interacted with. Is this true, or is it random?

    On mine it's either people I interact with the most or lurk the most. Yeah, I've always noticed this too.

    I just looked at my FB profile and all nine of them are ones I interact with the most.

    Once upon a time they found opening the HTML/CSS source you could look at the friends listed in order. I believe this was found out to not have any significance or was set to a random display order. Either way they try to prevent tracking.
