  • I say wolves.

They've been on the "omg they're so cute! let's hug them" lists for long enough.

They're no longer endangered. So keeping them on a bloody pedestal is only going to harm other species.

I know, so many people have gotten use to the "save the wolves!" slogans that they've never actually considered what happens AFTER the wolves are saved. These ARE predators. They're not going to simply sit down and sing KumByeAh at the firepit - they'll feed on other animals.

And yes that is natural for them to hunt other animals - but... it's NOT natural if you continue to coddle and protect them above all other animals.

So I say, wolves get equal rights to all other animals now. Meaning they can be hunted to keep them in check same as other predators or game animals.

    • Try living in Novosibirsk (Russia) like I did for 6 years. There are dense oak and pine forests nearby and all you can hear is the shrill howl. You would sh*t yourself if you had to walk along the Yatusk bypass to Yatusk. Its 3000 miles of forest lined roads with wolves crying out. When I got a puncture, you move it...the belowing of elks, crying of wolves and rustling trees in the wind produces the quickest tire change you've ever done. For you I suggest Russia is not your best option.

      • Um. I'm not actually scared of wolves. I just picked that cos I think they need to be hunted again cos they're not longer endangered.

        =)

          • It's sad. I wish they would leave them alone. Wolves are beautiful intelligent creatures like dogs.

            • Although descended from wolves, domestic dogs actually have very little in common with wolves. For example, dogs, unlike wolves, are not true pack animals because with true pack anaimals, both parents raise young and wolves kill only for food. Male dogs will kill and eat puppies if given half a chance and dogs will come up on a herd of animals, flock of chickens, or whatever, and chase down and kill every one they can just to hear the animals scream in pain. Additionally, recent studies have revealed that today's domestic dogs are some of the dumbest animals on earth. Pigs are much, much more intelligent than dogs!

            • This is exactly what I was talking about.

People go "oh how beautiful!" and continue to coddle them.

They put on blinders and ignore that wolves are now threatening the existence of other animals.

who's going to champion the elk?

              • Not only wolves, but also fox. Since the ban on fox-hunting in England, fox have been attacking livestock and pets. I read a few months ago of a fox actually attacking a man who was sleeping in his yard. The bleeding hearts always get involved in things they don't understand and make bad matters worse!

          • only in some areas.

in some other areas people are still blindly trying to prevent it thinking that they're still in "danger"
