  • Of course it's not.
It may not be the best but it's certainly not the worst. There are a lot worse places than the USA, a LOT worse.

  • The way I see it, the US isn't perfect but we suck a lot less than most other places.

  • I've not lived in all the countries, so I have no idea.

  • By what measure?

  • North Korea is the worst I'd hate to live there

  • Not even close.

  • That depends what you mean. The worst as in: they contribute by far the most per capita in terms of carbon emissions? The worst as in: more people are executed in the United States than anywhere else? Most waste? Most But they are amongst the best in terms of innovation, and the best at upholding certain types of freedom (not all types of freedom though, mind you). In a country as big as the US, the best and the worst things can happen.

In a world in which there is a United States, the United States is a good place to live. However, I do believe the US is not universally a force for good in the rest of the world.

  • It's the best and it's the worst. I know people think it's great living here, but that depends on who you are. Obviously it's more free, which is nice, but this can be bad because you're free screw over and free to get screwed. In the land of opportunity, somebody has to be the garbage that gets stepped on.
Something about a rich guy walking past a starving, homeless guy without a single glance is disturbing to me... Of course, I don't how common that is elsewhere- I just don't like seeing it here.

  • Not even close. There's Syria, China, Iran, North Korea, and several other countries that have it far worse.

    • Not to mention African and South American nations, they have it just as bad and theyre governments are far more corrupt

  • I feel like this is discrimination against Americans. Is this really even allowed? Insulting a whole fucking country?

    • All America haters should be required to live in Pakistan for a year before they open their pieholes.

      • Whoa there birdy. Just what's so bad about Pakistan?
No, seriously, just because I'm displeased with the way this country has deteriorated into a violent, morally and economically bankrupt shadow of it's former self, does not mean I have to go live somewhere else to understand that there are worse places to live.
I would just like to see this country spend enough money to see that it's own citizens are healthy, fed and housed before it spends millions of dollars daily in other countries forcing our "values" on them. I would love to vote for a candidate that I truly want as president, rather than the lesser of two evils.
Dissent is (or was) a right guaranteed to each and every American and as a matter of fact the Constitution demands that we change the government if it is not holding true to that Constitution.

        • Yeah, I was in Karachi in 2011. It still smells the same as when you were presumably there in the 80's, but the people are much less friendly.

I mostly agree with your ideas about the USA, but again, what are the alternatives?

Please consider that folks always look at the present as fucked up and the past as rosy. Was America any more or less morally bankrupt (I'll give you the economic thing) in the last 50 years than it is now?

Or is the idea that things are fucked up just being more efficiently disseminated these days?

Please tell me of an era in human history free of violence, corruption, and pestilence.

I bet if I went back during the Cuban missile crisis and asked, folks would tell me about how fucked up things are now and they wish it could be the way it was in their own nonexistent time of yore.

  • I don't want to sound racist but US keeps getting illegal Mexicans hopping the border. So that right there would say that "YOUR LAND IS BETTER THAN OURS" at least far as Mexico is concerned. So apparently not. You also live in a land where people can still demand more money in an economy that is broke. So thumbs up for the spoiled US brats.

    • Illegal immagration is at net zero. That means the number coming is equal to the number going back. so shut the fuck up are read the news cuntface.

  • For the freedom to own firearms, Canada is the best - but its taxes are the worst. So move to the USA and join a gun club.

  • No one can say that a country is the worst in the world because no country is better ir worse than any other nation. America isn’t the best and lots of people worldwide despise the Americans, but that would be the fault of government, military and gangs, not the general population.
I personally would prefer living in America than in England, the healthcare there is supposed to be one of the best healthcare systems in the world, and they got a lot of interesting history and landmarks, and not to menton tge tv shows there are far better than the crap we got in tge UK

  • Until you have visited every region( not just the bid cities)of every country in the world then you shouldn't judge any of them. It is ignorant.

  • Dude. I am typing this in the U.S. right now. I'm doing okay. My friends are doing okay. It's not Heaven and I don't like the weird shit our government is up to right now, but it's not a fiery inferno of a dictatorship or anything.

  • It's the worst so-called 1st world country. I'd never deem as 1st world a country where public health care still is a debate. I mean, that's like debating the universal suffrage right now. And that's only one os many things about the USA which makes them the worst pseudo-1st world country.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Very simplistic question. In terms of living standards, no. In terms of say, gun laws, yes?! Well, no, not the worst. Overall, no.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Yes and no. They have too many problems, but I think they progress the most.
