  • Well sleep is really important while body building because our bodies release high quantities of growth hormone during stages 3 and 4 of sleep which tend to occur past the 5 hour mark. One of my clients has only been getting 5 hours sleep a night and I had to explain to him that there is a correlation with an increase in myocardial infarction mortality with a constant less than 6 hours a night sleep.

  • Sleep is for everyone. But the weak NEED sleep. The strong can operate on little sleep. At Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, where they train British Army officers, they have an exercise when they don't allow you to sleep for 72 hours straight. Whilst still doing loads of things like physical activity, planning, attacking, defending, all sorts of shit. It trains the mind and develops mental robustness. Sleep is for the weak.
