  • It depends on if it is about terminal illness or just making a hasty decision on a really bad day.

    • There are several things required to be considered for assisted suicide so it would never be done on someone who just felt like dying today

    • Like Lula said, you cannot use that method under the "Right To Die" law; which only a few states in the US even have. Oregon being the most infamous because it was the first.

The Death With Dignity act is very progressive and I agree with it and the purpose of such a right. It is specifically and only designed for the terminally ill.
These people are choosing to die with "dignity" as opposed to turning into a vegetable and having absolutely no control over their minds and body failing them. They choose the day, preparing family and friends, while having the gift and option to have them all present to say their goodbyes.

There is an amazing documentary about this and the families, along with those whom decided to go this route, are visibly at peace and happy with their choice. It's a great option for the terminally ill, not only have control over their debilitating/fatal disease, it is their "right to die with dignity".
