        Nope, I'm familiar with it. Did three theology courses at uni. I manage to block it all out most days.

        Now and then, the hypocrisy gets to me though.

        But I shouldn't worry my pretty little head about it I spose :P

          Very true, and "hoes and bitches can never carry the word of God" must be in the Bible somewhere because I've had it repeated to me very many times. Must be in the book of Playa. God bless them all. I roll my eyes at men.

            That would be the verse lc1988 put. People love to warp. That verse (and chapter, if I remember correctly) is actually meant to be within the context of the day it was written in - women were expected in the synagogues to not talk, etc. The writer is giving this instruction to the early Christians in order for them to not cause too much uproar.

            Anyway.

            Most religion can be said to be keeping women 'downtrodden' if that's what you're really looking for (and some do, and really play up on it - hence the hoes and bitches thing).

            I just smile and nod, and go off to my happy place when they talk about it :)
