i lot of people who go into psychology do it to try to find out what is the matter with themselves. the law mandates that she intervene in a case where she suspects someone will do harm to his/her self or others.
honestly, she sounds a bit messed up, but i wouldn't worry too much about her future patients as there is an overabundance of therapists and psychologists/psychiatrists. getting into a clinical psych program more difficult (or at least it was) than med school. she'll probably be weeded out before she even gets a license, and if not, then she'll probably have no patients.
