Ok so here's the thing. I have been sexually attracted to guys for a pretty long time. But only recently, I started liking guys romantically. I am 20, and I started liking guys romantically at the age of 19. What do you guys think about this?

I find it a odd that I was sexually attracted to guys for so long before I started liking them romantically. But maybe this is more normal than I think?

I am very confused.

    I don't get this sexual attraction vs romantic attraction false dichotomy. If sex wasn't a part of it then what's the difference between a friendship and a romantic partner?

      Agreed, I don't get it either, this idea that you can separate it out like "there's people I want to fuck, and people I'm romantically interested in!"

      What's the difference? Ok there is more to a relationship than sex absolutely. However, is it not sexual attraction that makes the difference, between what would otherwise be a platonic connection and a romantic one? People you love but don't want sex with are either friends, or family.

      The difference between a friend and a romantic partner is that a romantic relationship feels, well, romantic.

      I could explain to you in detail how I feel about my crush (one of my crushes) and how it feels different from liking someone platonically. But I feel like that might be a bit of a TMI.

          No, that's not what I meant. What I meant is that a romantic relationship FEELS different from a non-romantic relationship. It's not that some actions are inherently romantic (no, not even marriage is inherently romantic). But a romantic relationship involves ~~~special feelings~~~ that are not included in a non-romantic relationship. What those feelings are depends on the individual.

    I'm guessing you're gay which is pretty normal to only have sex for pleasure, and if you are a girl it's actually pretty normal too considering your age, most high school kids don't truly "love" anyone they're just horny.

    It is a issue dealing with affection she has been neglected and know searching to feel fulfilled, she just needs to seek spiritual guidance from above, no preacher can help too many will want to use her for thier benefit!! That is sad. Prayer is the answer,not a preacher. Been there

    What do you mean by "young girls"? I use that phrase to refer to 18-24 year old girls, but sometimes people use that phrase to refer to little girls.
