  • You shouldn't be washing everyday.
Seriously, go to a hair salon and ask to have a chat with one of the stylists. They can tell you your hair type, how often you should wash and with what kind of shampoos. Drugstore brands are often made with fillers (a common one being floor wax) to increase shine, but it clogs pores and causes tons of sebum. Stop shampooing for a few days, just use warm water, then see a stylist.

    • I don't wash it everyday, I wash it every other day or every two days. But it gets very oily at the roots. I use Pantene frizz control shampoo and conditioner once a week and then Tresemme frizz contol shampoo and conditioner the rest of the time. And I know Pantene is no good for your hair, it makes it fall out, but I don't use it every day. The reason I alternate is because if I use the same shampoo for too long it doesnt seem to work at cutting the oilyness. My hair is REALLY thick and I have about 3 inches to go before it's waist length (I grow it long enough that I can cut 6 to 8 inches of it and send to Locks of Love and it still be long)and naturally straight. I use the frizz control because I live in a hummid area but during the winter its never frizzy no matter what I use. I usually use a flat iron on it about twice a week and unless I dont have the time I let it air dry, hate blow drying it.
