I don't believe in that stuff in such a way. I believe it happens, but I don't think this one of those times. I think he's paranoid and so are you. You don't become possessed by reading literature. I don't think you understand the full consequences of being possessed by a spirit, either. Ruling out schizophrenia isn't wise. Actually there are many disorders that share those symptoms you mention. You should trust therapy first, if that fails then you can explore other possibilities.
