No, because it's not a game.

Possibly. It is a very time consuming extracurricular activity that requires dedication and focus, much like a sport. It may seem dorky to a lot of people, but those kids put a shitload of time and effort into it. They march in formations that need to be focused on at the same time they are playing their instruments. It's harder than it seems. Final conclusion, not sure, hmmm.

Right on, I was a band nerd, but I like to think it's to my credit that I didn't fit in, but hey it was either marching band or PE class.

That's a tough one. Usually my three qualifiers are:

    1. Does it require a decent amount of physical activity and your performance will improve by being in better shape?

    2. Is there a reasonably high risk for injury?

    3. Is it competitive?

Golf and curling I consider sports, but barely. Bowling...Maybe. Billiards/pool/snooker not quite. Chess-no. You definitely can compete with marching bands, there's a decent chance of injury, but I have seen some pretty overweight marching band members. Then again John Daley was a fat golpher (and often drunk) that had a moderate amount of success. Although most current successful professional golfers are in pretty great shape. Idk that's a tough one.

no , neither is jerking off. the only reason its called marching is because you play standing and walking. so no its not a sport . flicking your boogers for distance is more of a sport than band.
