To refer to a friends with benefits relationship as platonic is a misnomer.
Technically platonic friendships are those that are not only devoid of romantic entanglements, but also those that do not include physical intimacy.
I'm quite satisfied living as a solitary person. I don't believe in sexual relations outside of monogamous, committed, longterm and loving relationships. I think it's fine that I'm not open to the things to which I'm not open, the main issue that I tend to encounter are issues around society's views about single people who prefer to remain so.
ok thats fine im just finding it tough to find women in my area or will come to me who want just sex im in a place in life where im not ready to love again and i just want sex i get many wanting to be single but love is great and can come to someone at any time so being completely closed off to the possibility doesnt help i also couldnt live without sex as i have a high sex drive and need it constantly
I could never love someone who just wanted sex from myself, or other women. I think it's good when women choose to respect themselves, and not give themselves, their self-respect and and self-esteem away to sweet talkers who just want to use them for sex.
I'm not completely closed off to love, but I am completely closed off to casual sex, and people who don't understand about respect. I have literally zero interest in any sort of friends with benefits arrangement with anyone at anytime. No one has ever died from lack of casual sex. I would be content to remain single for the rest of my days rather than ever allow myself to be used. I'm just not desperate enough to ever compromise my morals, and values for the sake of empty meaningless encounters with individuals who don't respect me.
You don't need sex, no one really needs sex. People want sex, but no one needs sex to live. People need food, water and shelter to live, but they don't need sex. I personally don't believe in sex outside of a monogamous, committed, longterm, loving relationship.
I don't know you very well, but if you are wasting time, and energy looking at pornography and masturbating then that is probably why you think you need sex to live, but truthfully no one needs sex to live. As far as I'm concerned sex outside of a healthy relationship is just shallow, and meaningless. When people behave compulsively with regard to their sexuality they form a habit, because they get addicted to that dopamine hit that their brains release upon climax, it's really not that special, or unique. It's just people being slaves to an addiction to the chemicals their brains release.
P.S. I hope you clicked on the link I left in my previous post to learn what the word platonic means, because if you continue to think of a friends with benefits arrangement as a platonic friendship people will think that you're a moron. A lot of people will refrain from correcting you for the sake of politeness, but believe me they aren't doing you any favors by refraining from correcting your mistake in comprehension.
well i understand and yes i know what platonic means but also have known some who consider anything other then commitment platonic as far as sex many of us men need it i dont expect a woman to understand but a man needs sex its good for his mental health when men dont get it for a long time they get impulsive if im in a relationship i need sex or im breaking it off simple as that a man has needs and being that i havent had it in a very long time you can bet im seeking sex
true i get that but i know a lot who think platonic is anything except commitment and it doesnt really bother me as i guess they can interpret it however but personally i call meaningless sex nsa hookups or fwb
Yeah, I'm not down with morons with poor vocabulary comprehension. I'm also not down with people who act like they are cool with being platonic friends then suddenly start acting creepy, and trying to make every conversation sexual, because Lord knows it ain't gonna turn me on, but will annoy, and insult me.
Like I said earlier, I don't care for people who think they can make up their own definitions to words.
is it wrong to feel no one will ever want me
