I think this is a reaction to religious propaganda. Truth is death is the biggest mystery of life, don't dwell on it too much but form your own opinions about what happens. My opinion entails that we are all luminous beings simply tied to crude matter and almost like the law of conservation of energy we swell out into the world as existential feelings. And we become omnipresent. Whenever someone else feels something you've felt you'll be there and you'll live on forever through the feelings and desires of others..
