  • I dont do the calorie counting. I just eat hogh fat foods and as much as I feel like. Right now im cooking green beans with a shit ton of butter and salt. The calorie content is probably high but its ok. Im also cooking hamburger patties in butter with salt and cheese on top. Thats a super high calorie meal (i think) but its all good.

    • Well if you aren't getting fat you aren't eating much above maintinence calories. You probably have a fast metabolism and as a result, do not gain weight easily.

      • Thats the keto model. Its like high calorie and high fat but low carbs. Something about eating low carbs makes the weight fall of you. I was skeptical but it worked. It puts you in a state of fasting.

        • Uhhhh no actually there is no unique fat bur ing effect to keto. In calorie matched studies with high fat low carb and high carb no fat diets, there is not different in fat loss. Calories above maintinence will make you fat regardless of what they consist of.

I think the benefit for you is that fatty foods suppress your appatite more than carbs, so by eating fats you end up eating less calories overall.

          • Cite the studies and I'll debunk them one by one. Dont even try to cite the "China study".

            • Here is a meta analysis of 28 studies. Debunk them one by one please. You promised!

              • Ill have to look at the actual studies later when im not working. The meta analysis left out all the details. But the keto theory is that not all calories are the same. Some foods give your body different hormonal responses like cortisol and growth hormone. Cortisol is proven to increase fat. So eating high foods that give you a cortisol response will naturally make you fatter. Thats why if you take one guy and give him clean healthy foods and then take a guy and give him pasta and fastfood the guy with the fast food diet will get fatter over a long period of time. Also with a keto diet your body no longer uses glucose for energy so its easier to fast. Fasting is harder when you use glocuse for energy because your blood sugar gets low. When you're on keto and you fast its not burning glucose its burning purely fat. Your brain also uses a ketones to fuel itself and you feel a lot more clear headed.

            • Its literally the scientific consensus! Calories in Calories out! Show me a study where one group at more calories but didn't gain more weight!
