Seems every decade there is some new scare. I remember in the 80's it was AIDS. In the 2000's it was mosquito or mad cow or anthrax or Donald Duck disease... basically animal stuff.
So right now it is diabetes. No one cares about cancer.
Remember swine flu? That was going to wipe out the whole of jolly old England, apparently. Turned out it was a big fat disappointment, just like the bird flu was

Cancer is a constant. No matter what you do its contributing to getting cancer.
Diabetes while sometimes genetic most of the time is due to eating crap.
Aids is fun because it's almost exclusively a gay condition and it came out of nowhere in the 80s.
