  • That sucks dude. Probably something in our diet. We eat a lot of sugar these days. Our diet is lower in fat than our ancestors but higher in sugar. I wonder if our ancestors had the same rate of cancer.

      • It's hard to go off those types of life expectancy numbers because they include infant mortality. Back in the day more infants died and women died through child birth a lot. But many died from diceases as they were older too. I wonder if cancer was a disease many died from. Cancer doesn't only affect the elderly. My sister had cancer as a teenager.

        • Cancer risk was less in the past. Infectious diseases were much higher though. Part of the rise in cancer risk is because of the fact that other ways people used to die, we have done things to reduce, however we still can't defend against cancer much.
