  • Well, noooo, I'm not thinking of abuse. If she chooses to be a housewife that's different, but...if she had a change of heart and wanted a job or to go back to school, would you "allow" it, or insist she stay home because that's what YOU want, even if you knew she'd be very unhappy?

    My own mom was a housewife, and my father was the bread winner and set in his ways. They had the traditional roles for a long while. But she got restless and decided she wanted to work part time. My father was against it, but put his ego aside and she got her little job and was very happy. The marriage didn't suffer, and she still did the housework and raised me.

    • If she wants to do it, and doesnt create a scheduling problem or a financial one then fine.

      If it does start a problem we can always talk it out.
