  • Man, it's 2020 and there are still dudes who want little servant wives? So are you that guy who would forbid your little house wife from getting a job or going back to school if she told you she wanted to because that'd be something YOU wouldn't want?

    • Not servant wives. Women who CHOOSE to be housewives are very attractive to us traditionalist males. I was raised by my mother and father, mostly my mother because my father worked to keep his kids fed and happy.

If she wants to be a housewife and I want to be a career breadwinner. how can you judge two adults doing the best for their joint lives?

What you are probably thinking of are abusive husbands and wives. Something we can both agree that's bad. Being abusive is also the easiest way to get found and beat the fuck up by your neighbors because you abuse your wife.

I want my kids to be raised in the same fashion as I was raised. Nothing wrong with my upbringing most would call it normal.

      • Well, noooo, I'm not thinking of abuse. If she chooses to be a housewife that's different, but...if she had a change of heart and wanted a job or to go back to school, would you "allow" it, or insist she stay home because that's what YOU want, even if you knew she'd be very unhappy?

My own mom was a housewife, and my father was the bread winner and set in his ways. They had the traditional roles for a long while. But she got restless and decided she wanted to work part time. My father was against it, but put his ego aside and she got her little job and was very happy. The marriage didn't suffer, and she still did the housework and raised me.

        • If she wants to do it, and doesnt create a scheduling problem or a financial one then fine.

If it does start a problem we can always talk it out.

    • Where did he say he wanted a servant wife? Live and let live, dude. He wants a traditional relationship with a consenting partner. Why try and mire his name with something he didn't ask for just because he doesn't want the kind of relationship you want?

      • Really confused as to where this “tradition” for women to stay home comes from cause it definitely isn’t from any part of my ancestry

        • It was popular in the US with the rise of city living stuff, women on farms tended to help with farming stuff.

It's funny cause this makes me think of a buddys sister I knew a while ago. Got married, had a couple kids, turned into one of those "Motherhood is the hardest job on earth" facebook stay-at-home-moms. The funny thing is though, she never had a job even before she got married. Tended to just kind of chill and live off whatever guy she was dating at the time til she got pregnant.

So yeah, not like not having to go to work isn't awesome, but in the US anyway, many women use having babies as an excuse to be taken care of by others through adulthood.

            • You should post this i the correct topic. I know how to use a chainsaw. I've got a whole stack of em next to my old 40s army jeep that ran before I was born. It's tougher to cover all the chainsaws from the rain than it is to replace the ones that get wet from the trash if you know pickup schedules around here. You'd probably call the cops about it if you were my neighbor.

If you can't handle drugs you might as well be a cop. You can make some cool go karts out the garbage buddy. If you knew what to do with chainsaw motors. Nothin gets you off your ass like putting chainsaw motors on shit you find in other peoples garbage

        • In most societies, for most of history, women heavily taken on the burden of domestic duties, e.g. washing, cooking, weaving, or working a loom. You're in Russia right? It would have been the same; obviously it depends on the income of your family and such. Idk how stuff worked during the soviet era though, but before that it was certainly part of your history, and given how the vast majority of cultures have functioned for the vast majority of time on this world I would still be surprised if women didn't attend to domestic duties more than men did even in Soviet times.
