I've met plenty of both in their 50s or older who have never grown up and accepted responsibility for things in their lives. and also met plenty of both who have.
I would agree that often younger ladies mature faster than most men because they end up caring for children more often (although I was a rare male babysitter as a teenager myself).
But, I think past 30 that things have evened out there and its up to how much each person has and is willing to grow up and take responsibility.
