Maybe on average, but it isn't likely to be true for one person. It's not like the heart attack destined to kill you will come 12 minutes earlier because you smoked a cigarette once or anything.
Actually nicotine does damage the linings of blood vessels in the heart so if you are destined to die from a heart attack that cigarette really could cause you to die 12 minutes sooner :P.
Is it true every cigarette you smoke 12 min. subtracts from your life?

I know, I'd just be surprised if the model had that kind of precision down to the quantum cigarette. Who knows, maybe it is true? :P
