Is it that common to leave a girl friend when you almost got a girlfriend?

So I've been friends with this guy for almost 4 months and I started developing trust over him.

Until one day, a girl who already have a boyfriend takes interest in him. And he immediately replies to her "feelings". Their relationship is nothing new actually, he liked her once a year ago but didn't work out, she ended up choosing her boyfriend right now.

I don't really care that she's being like that. But it started becoming a problem when she becomes jealous that I am close with the guy. I mean, cmon guys, she already have a boyfriend.

The worst thing is the guy chooses her over me without even thinking twice, forgetting our friendship for some girl and cuts off our relationship completely.

I am still upset about this, its been over a week :'(

    He liked her before he met you, which is why he jumped at the chance to be with her and disregard you. The whole situation sucks, but the best thing to do is forget these bozos and move on.

    He's infatuated, and a friendship can't compete with that. She's giving him attention on a level a friend can't, and she's probably providing that cheatin' puss, you never know.

    What you need to do is simply understand the situation and get over it. Hang out with other friends while this friend is busy being stupid.

      Yea, I hope I will get over this soon. Never thought he can do such thing very easily. He said to me that he knows this is unfair for me, but insists to stop talking anyways...

    the great thing about not being married is you can pick and choose who and when to be with somebody. Get used to it because soon they only people getting married will be lesbian women.

    He's been holding a torch for her this whole time, because he already liked her before so it's kinda logical in a weird way. Although, if I were in his shoes I probably would have tried to forget about her, because she, as you mentioned before, picked someone else over this guy. I know it's not exactly fair, but it's his stupid personal drama thang.

    It's best to just leave him be.
