Is it some people react badly to me for being so nice?

It really seems like some people have reacted to me badly for me being so overly nice. My biggest example is my brother. He has demanded money from me over and over again, and I had given in most of the time and sent him the money and almost always done it so nicely without expecting anything in return.
Now, I had a situation crop up out of my control where I was unable to send him money, and he freaked out demanding me to find a way to send, saying he would be screwed without it.
My question is, is the reason he has gotten so demanding and expecting of me sending him money, because I have been too nice and helped him too much without getting anything in return so many times? Is this the reason why he has gotten into the habit of using and abusing? Because I have been too nice, and kind of like a doormat?

People tend to be overly nice because of guilt felt from past committed sins. If you have skeletons in your closet concerning your brother then: Viola! If those skeletons don't concern your brother then you are being grossly taken advantage of here. So my response to your bro: Fuck off dude!

    • Yeh. People really do take advantage of people too nice in today's world, don't they?

I don't know what it is. But after everything you've done, you owe him absolutely nothing. Set him straight.

    • Why do some people use and abuse those that are too nice?

Because they can and because nice people let them do it! It's fine to be kind and generous, society wouldn't function at all without those qualities, but we all also need to look after ourselves, even if the takers get the shits with us when we do so.

First of all, I don't believe in being too nice, unless you're too pushy or not minding your own business. As for why, I don't know. Maybe they're delusional and don't see the harm they're doing. Maybe because of spite. Maybe they're extremely selfish.

You're enabling him to not put his big boy pants on and get his own damn money. Not everybody takes advantage of people, but the majority I've met are out for themselves.
