Is it sexist to ask a female employee to speak with a higher voice?

This is a restaurant and I told her it's very off-putting to male customers to speak with her Hillary Clinton voice.

Is It Normal?

      • HR at my job sucks. They're basically management so its the fox guarding the hen house. They'll side with the managers unless its lawsuit worthy. Then theyll try to do damage control.

        • Where do you work again?

Whenever some jerk harassed me at work I would go to HR, and the the situation would get straightened out.

          • At a frieght company. This girl here kept going to HR but they had no proof and the guy harrassing her the boss of the HR people. She ended up bringing a voice recorder and caught him that way by threatening corporate to sue. Then they went into major damage control mode. The manager was a major bully. Cant remember exactly what she recorded but it was something like "youre so hot come back here and suck my dick."

  • If she spoke with a hillary Clinton voice, what you need is a restraining order.

  • Asking a female employee to speak with a higher voice?! Why? Unless her voice is super deep and actually manly and a lot of people complain, or feel uneasy, I don't see a problem.

You say you're running a restaurant, you don't need to make people talk like flirty, giggly schoolgirls. That's left to stip clubs and brothels.

Let the woman do her job.

  • I have a naturally deep broadcaster's voice, my singing range is alto, an I wouldn't change myself for anything, or anyone. I would, however, go straight to Human Resources, and report your bitch ass for discrimination, and sexual harassment!

      • I don't know, because haven't had any bloodwork done. But most of the people in my immediate family have somewhat deeper voices. I love my voice, and it's been a source of income for me for much of my life.

  • Well dam higgetie, clamp my balls, twist my nipples and spit in my face.

  • Is she doing impressions of Hillary Clinton? If so then I think it's fair to ask her not to do that when speaking to customers.

If she just has a deep voice then you are going to get yourself sued if you tell her she has to change how she speaks.
