Is it rude for someone to not respond back at all?

I'm a guy and there's a friend that I had (girl) and we would text each other frequently and have great conversations. Then she didn't seem as interested. She would open the message and not respond or just give a one word response to me so I stopped texting her(no harsh feelings whatsoever) we didn't talk for like a good 3-4 months. Then a few days ago she randomly text me asking how I'm doing and I responded after I saw it about an hour later. She took about 2 days to respond and I just found it a bit rude. When I responded she just left my message there and hasn't responded since. I'm not someone that is pressed on a girl texting me back but is this rude or should I grow a pair? Yes I know people have lives but as much as people look at their phones and are on their phones I know that she sees it sitting there

I would say it's rude. Just forget about her. If she can't be bothered to spend 45 seconds to reply to you, why should you make the effort.

I have no idea. It depends on what dimension each one of us lives in. Communication takes place on many different planes of reality.

What would you consider a polite way to end a text? Have a good day?

Texts are an open conversation and usually random streams of conciousness that ebb and flow.

They close the gaps in relationships. Ask her out silly.

I'm not in the same state as her I'm in and out of there. I get you 100% though

That is rude. Sometimes I honestly just couldn't be bothered talking to someone at that moment and so I'll ignore the text or phone call until the next day, or just make up some bullshit excuse that I'm too busy to talk at the moment. But I certainly wouldn't wait two days to respond, I'd always get back to them the very next day.
