Is it reasonable to not be fond of certain people until you know them?

I'm not really fond of the elderly or asians (being asian myself). I don't stereotype, because I believe that there's alittle bit of everything in every race/group of people, but of course we see certain trends in certain races of people more often then others at times. I'm not fond of the elderly because they tend to be very old-fashioned and more close-minded (More prejudice and racist). I'm not really fond of asians because most of them I've met are selfish and money-grubbing.

I'm basing this all on experience and I'm not saying that all elderly people and asians are like this, it's just that I see this more often in these two groups then any other. Of course if I meet a nice elderly person and/or asian I will acknowledge them and show them courtesy like I would anyone else. It's just if I see them walking on the street and whatever, I pay no attention or have any interest in them at all.

Is this reasonable and is anybody else like this?

lol, you're prejudiced against old people because they tend to be prejudiced?? AND you're prejudiced against Asians...so WHAT exactly makes you any better than the old people you hate on? You don't make sense.

Yes its reasonable. people who say that is isnt are lying to themselves. EVERYONE has bias or at least a stereotypical opinion of one group or another even if they dont actively live by it and ignore those people. so dont listen to people who say you are prejudice they have theirs too

Everyone is prejudice to some extent. It's natural for us to see patterns and make presumptions, necessary even. It's to what extent those prejudices infringe on our lives and the lives of others that's the important factor.

If you're prejudiced beforehand you're less likely to get to know those people better. Keep an open mind.
