Is it racist to be german? when i tell people they call me a nazi

No, it's not racist to be German. The Germans I know are all very nice people who want to forget the past and concentrate on the future.

Besides, what happened in Germany could easily have happened in other European countries. Although we vilify individuals, there are reasons why Nazism rose that don't involve any individual.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone call someone a Nazi just for being German.

I don't think it's right to label you for something that happened probably before you were even born. Being German doesn't automatically make you a Nazi or racist. I think it's offensive to say you are. Unless you're a Neo-Nazi or actually are racist something? If not, which I'm guessing is the case, then the people saying this are the ones with the problems, not you. I don't believe that you're racist just through existing, that makes no sense.

The past actions still defines what Germany is today. Now Germany strives to never let this happen in Germany or in the rest of the world.

I say the same applies to other nations on this planet.

I don't usually advise fighting fire with fire, but it might be entertaining to throw national stereotypes into the faces of whoever is making the comments. It might at least show them how dumb they are.

Well don't forget there are still many people alive today that were around when Hitler was around killing Jews and conquering Europe. So they naturally still resent Germans and pass that on to their children. Give it another 50 odd years and Im sure most of it will die down.

I have a friend who feels "guilty" for being German and Saudi he says they are two cultures with a bad history . I told him that's silly , you are what you make yourself and if we could choose what we are born as, I'd be a pampered lap dog.
