I love my dog but she's gotten too loud and my quality of life has deteriorated rapidly. Ever since construction started down the block it's been non-stop even at night when there is no activity. The construction itself isn't even that loud but she hears something that triggers her. I can't move out and she is untrainable when it comes to barking.
It's relatively simple to train a dog to bark less. You have to be bothered to do it though. I've worked with some horribly abused dogs, and also dogs rescued from illegal fighting rings. I trained them to bark less at loud noises. I am not a professional dog trainer. I just did this during my normal day of looking after them to help them get adopted.
If I can train them not to bark at loud noises then I highly doubt that your dog is untrainable.

You wan't to find a way to remove your dogs vocal cords?? Hello?? You know sometimes people don't think quite when they buy something. For instance a DOG! You SHOULD know when you get a dog what the risks are and what it takes to raise it properly.

What you need to do is to pull your head out of your ass, and go to Google, then google search for training methods, and gadgets to help you deal with a dog that barks too much. It's not that complicated, you stupid idiot!
They actually have collars that are designed to help curb barking in dogs that bark too much. Google books on dog training, and start reading!

I dont like it either but people cut their dogs vocal cords regularly. In fact almost every vet will do this surgery. I'm with you on the idea that it's not cool and downright cruel, but the op isn't molesting children or beating up old ladies so I think your response was a bit of a psychotic episode. I dont thonl that God would grant your wish of sodomy with a stale carrot. I think he would send you the miracle of... Seroquel.

Hello OP as a fellow member of the dog won’t stop barking club I feel your pain and I think some of the people on here are being a bit harsh with you. I don’t think removing the dog’s vocal cords is a good solution but I empathize with having a dog that’s difficult to train or not knowing the magic solution for when there are things going on outside that she insists on barking at repeatedly. Nobody on here has actually said how to keep a dog who wants to bark all the time from not barking but I can tell you that I was once given the no barking dog collar thing and it doesn’t work on my dog. Also people like to say don’t get an animal if you can’t afford it or if you aren’t prepared to deal with it etc. but you don’t always know how life will go or how the animal will react to certain situations or for instance if at one time you will have money and later you won’t. Just saying.
