Is it possible to get messed up off a small can of beer

I went on a date with a guy and after dinner we walked around. I bought a regular sized 10 oz can of beer and he wouldn't for the life of him, stop talking about how messed up I would get, even if I tried to change the conversation. He kept saying are you okay while I was walking and saying "look you're drunk now" if I would laugh normally. I'm positive I wasn't acting different, I'm smart enough to know it's impossible for me, at 5'10 to be drunk from one single drink, as it's pretty much impossible for most people.

He said his sister gets super drunk from one shot because she's short (even though he's really tall) and I don't believe him. Out of curiosity, is it really possible or was this an excuse for his being condescending?

    Had a guy in senior high who after a glass of wine would start cursing and swearing like a complete drunk ass. Maybe some people are not meant to drink or sniff alcohol..

      Since this happened I met a friend who does that off a few sips of a beer, not to insult your friend but I think some people feel a little loose and just let go of themselves. Anyway, a placebo ("jungle juice" with no alcohol) will be in place for my friend to see what the deal is.

    Don't assume. It takes one to know one, idiots. Don't be so quick to label him a know-nothing or an asshole unless you are also one and know from personal experience.

    I think he's just a light weight and extremely sensitive to people acting even slightly different from even the most minute amount of inebriation.

    It's not normal. But it's completely possible, for example Asians normally have a much lower alcohol tolerance, same if you're younger and smaller. I knew a young asian girl who got completely wasted off of one small drink.

    I'm not acting and you are strangers so I really don't care what anyone thinks (No offense) I used to drink pretty regularly like after work and stuff. I completely changed my diet and I also might drink once every month or so. Niw that ive changed my diet and hardly drink, i get really buzzed off of one drink and sometimes even at a half a drink I start feeling it. I used to think people like me were just annoying attention seeking girls, but I'm being honest it happens.

      That's interesting, how did you change your diet? And I could understand a buzz, but it doesn't sound like the world was spinning and you were drunk. He was talking about me being DRUNK lol. I feel warm after one drink but there's a difference between that and him telling me I'm stumbling while I'm walking normally.

        I started eating all organic non-gmo, and mainly a raw vegan diet. Ya definitely not spinning drunk! Was this your first date? Did he drink at all? Maybe he could see you like loosening up and started getting concerned. Tough to say but it doesn't sound like anything but genuine concern either way.

    he was being a gentleman and concerned for your safety and well-being but you thought it was all an excuse to act condescending and be opportunistic or predatory towards you? maybe you should check your own brain for chemical imbalances. he is better off without having to deal with a feminist anyway. go burn some bras or whatever you like to do in your free time.

        Yeh, almost no one gets drunk off one beer unless they have the lowest alcohol tolerance, or they're 5 (which obviously a 5 year old should never do). Maybe he's confusing being drunk with that little warm feeling that starts up after the first drink, but there's a big difference.
