Is it possible to better your driving from youtube videos

I've failed 2 tests because my private instructor, my dad, as usual doesnt bother and thinks its boring to spend time with me to drive so when we do on those few occasions he isnt engaged. I could just as well be teaching myself. Once he even got out of the car while practicing parking and said "you continue on your own" and walked away kek.
So I can follow all the rules and everything i've passed my theory test on the first try but it's the details in driving that goes wrong due to my dad having refused to practice those because it's boring. I also dont wanna see him to drive right now due to covid I dont wanna get sick on christmas and he isnt exactly the best at hygiene he doesnt take covid seriously he's told me to ignore the restrictions for example because young people "cant get sick" and because they're stupid. But I did notice there's plenty of youtube videos where they show you very detailed the things I need to practice. So I wonder if that could be a solution.

By way of background, I first drove in the USA almost 50 years ago, I passed my UK driving test about 35 years ago, and I've had precisely one accident in that half-century.

Driving is a complex skill, and you're not going to learn how to do it by reading a book, watching a video or talking to others about it. There's simply no substitute for practical experience, and taking lessons from someone who has taught a lot of people and knows how to teach is a lot better than sitting with someone who's simply had a licence for many years and may, in fact, be a totally crap driver.

Having said that, you might consider having a look at this page: https://blog.passmefast.co.uk/learning-to-drive/top-10-youtube-channels-learner-drivers/

As always, you shouldn't take any YouTube video as gospel truth, and checking out the viewer comments can be helpful.

I've watched a bit of one of this guy's videos, and my impression is that he has his head screwed on right: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdZklq8ZUwbwQBLPpIzcz1g/videos

Since you've now taken the test twice, you have some feedback on your weak points. Trying to figure out how to correct those failings would probably be a good place to start.

Honestly more driving experience is what you need. I learn by experience I failed my first three tests because I was freaking out. But after I had the fuck it I'm ready mindset I passed with flying colors.

Dude. I’m telling you. If you fix your side mirrors to see your tires and the ground in the bottom of the mirror, it’ll save your whole life.

I used to like to watch a YouTube channel that showed drivers' mistakes and also discussed the traffic laws. I feel like just watching the mistakes helped me better understand certain things, because I am more of a visual learner and seeing an example helps me more than reading about something or seeing a diagram that shows a view from above (which is obviously not what it will look like to you as the driver).

However, the "Bad Drivers of [Place]" channels I remember were full of really aggressive and road rage-y drivers, so although they can be educational in some ways, I don't think those types are the best examples.

But, to me, nothing beats hands-on experience. Is there anyone else who can help teach you?
