It took it as it was written. It started out with a derogatory remark. How is it the wrong way then?
Now let me ask you this: it's all right for ME to be attacked for this, but not to defend myself? Why would there be double standards in this? You did criticize my choices and you barely paid attention to them. You also assumed they were based on 'users I like', when in fact they were made on mere observation. For the record, there are users there I have neutral feelings for.
It's no crime to have a different opinion, much less to express it. We are encouraged to do so, especially here. But be ready to hear someone else's as well when you do.
It didn't start out with a derogatory remark. What are you talking about?
I have no idea how you could have taken it the way you have. Seriously.
I think you're being defensive because other people have attacked you, so you must have assumed that I was doing the same. And now you're trying to punish me for some sort of perceived tone you read into it.

Really? Because I did express my opinion. You didn't like it because you assumed I was being negative toward you and you attacked me for it.
Who attacked whom? 1) You started this thread by stating possible negative consequences of what I did and therefore implying I was wrong in doing it. 2) You read the original post poorly for someone who wanted to criticize it. 3) If you do not understand that I found 'popularity poll' derogatory (for it was a joke), you were ill informed of my opinions repeatedly stated throughout the post.
Hello. I hope you're still around so you can see this comment. I've been going through my older comments, came across this one, and thought I should respond, even though it's five months later.
Look, I'm really sorry my comment came off as negative and you felt attacked. Sometimes, I have a problem making my true intentions clear on IIN. I believe it's because I am quite often being excessively analytical/detached when I respond and it appears callous. I can only promise you that I never felt or had any negative intentions when I wrote it, I believed I was being supportive and realistic.
Again, I feel really bad that I worded it that way and that it offended you - I am very sorry.
p.s. PapaGee is not kick-ass at all, but I do still think some of the others I listed give good advice. And I do like everyone you listed too. :)

I am the one who doesn't see how I attacked YOU.
