sadly i do think its normal. i'm sorry for you and i'm not condoning what they are doing, but i have had so many lousy friends i am not surprised by it when someone else is going through it. i don't mean that its really NORMAL as in cool or ok. you're friends are jerks and clearly jealous of you and to insecure to be around you. why can't they be happy for you? becuase they're so selfish and greedy and that they can't even reinforce you with approval and respect. you need to get new friends.
