  • It's not normal, however where I come from what you call physical abuse ( not rape obviously ) is called discipline. In other countries you get time out or grounded or what not. As for me I was beatened with almost anything they can get a hold of. This actually happened until I was 18. Then finally I got sick of it and started fighting back. Yes, it's wrong but my mom and I are even closer now because after that day she knew I was starting to grow up. The fight was pretty ugly, hair pulling, kicking, punching but I was having none of it no more. I moved out for a couple of months, without speaking to her. Then on her bday I called her to greet her and she asked me to come home. I assumed when she asked it meant she would finally start to treat me as a young adult and not a child. And now we've finally established a healthy and understanding mother/daughter relationship for about 4 years now.

There's going to be a day when you finally defend yourself from all that discipline because you're going to grow up sooner or later and most disciplinary parents are oblivious to that until something occurs for them to finally open their eyes and not see you as a child no more.
