I've made this rant several times before, but every time a story like this comes along, 99% of people suggest total avoidance. I've heard everything from "delete him from all of your contact lists" to "snap a rubber band on your wrist every time you think of him". Avoidance is not escape. It's a painkiller.
Claire here is absolutely right though. The only real solution is to be comfortable enough with yourself that even if it does hurt (which it will), it doesn't hurt enough to ruin you.
That was so nice of you to say. You are absolutely right that avoidance is not the way to deal with anything - I couldnt agree more! There arent many people around who think like you ;)
