  • This is when you need to really unleash your strength and forget about him. It will be hard, and its normal to feel hopeless, sad and alone with broken sense of self esteem. Try not to let him know that it bothers you as much as it does if you can. Prove to yourself that you can move on and be happy if not happier -
Sometimes your own passions are placed aside whilst involved in a long term relationship - rekindle your passions (art, hiking, cooking etc...) and try to learn to be happy within yourself. It's hard but if you can figure out how to do this your laughing for the rest of your life ;)

    • This. Thank you.

I've made this rant several times before, but every time a story like this comes along, 99% of people suggest total avoidance. I've heard everything from "delete him from all of your contact lists" to "snap a rubber band on your wrist every time you think of him". Avoidance is not escape. It's a painkiller.

Claire here is absolutely right though. The only real solution is to be comfortable enough with yourself that even if it does hurt (which it will), it doesn't hurt enough to ruin you.

      • That was so nice of you to say. You are absolutely right that avoidance is not the way to deal with anything - I couldnt agree more! There arent many people around who think like you ;)
