My wife and I have worked in the same building for ten years. One year, we worked in the same room. We were together 24 hours a day and 7 days a week... and we did not have a single fight. It can work. For several years, the room she worked in was just across the hall from the room where my first wife worked. That in-office relationship didn't end so well.
It all depends if you can act professional and pretend everything is fine even if you are ready to claw each other's eyes out.
