  • As a Briton, I will answer this question simply.

You are both English, Welsh and British.

British refers to anyone born in England, Scotland or Wales.

Welsh is for people who are from Wales.

And English is for those from England.

Since you fall into all three categories, you are English, Welsh and British.

Both my parents are from England so I am British and English.

  • I myself don't like the term British or From the uk. Cause I'm English and don't wanna linked to Wales or Scotland or Ireland. It is about time they left and fended for themselves.

  • There's a huge amount of Welsh in my family but my parents and grandparents were all born and raised in England. I use the terms English, British, European and Western depending upon context, as all four of them are true for me.

Aside from English, I think each one has a subtle implication and I like challenging that implication. British almost means Scottish, Welsh, Northern Irish or Manx, as an English person would just say English. Similarly, it'd be unusually for an English person to call themselves European but relatively common for someone from the Benelux countries to do so. And Western almost implies North American (which itself implies American as opposed to Mexican or Canadian despite them both being North American too). I actually do live in a part of England which is west of the Prime Meridian (Greenwich) but parts of this country and most of Europe would have to be classed as Eastern (which implies China and Japan).

    Strange, isn't it?
