Engaging with these people is what they want. Don't give them it. The term don't feed the troll is true.
And then management can see that it's entirely one sided and ban them.
That said, if all they're doing is trolling by using the reply feature and not giving threats but douchey comments then maybe Management is in a hard position where he doesn't know if banning someone for offending another user is ethical, even if he himself does not approve of how the troll is offending.
That said, if this new block feature is true and you use it against the troll and an alt account pops up to bypass the blocking then I'm deffo in support that he should be banned.
So I'd suggest ignoring the troll, aswell as the others who disapprove of him, and if he persists, report him.
I'm not siding with anyone. Back and forth bickering like this isn't productive for anyone. We don't need vigilanteism here. It doesn't help. If you have a problem with a comment, downvote it and/or report it. Do not reply. All that does is further antagonize the person and cause more off-topic disruption on the site.

I am sorry but what you are suggesting does not work with this particular troll. I've only been on the site for 5 months and I have seen him (mcbean and all his other alts) target charlim, zorak and also myself as well as others. Ignoring him and also reporting him, which I do on a regular basis, does.....not......work. All he does is then use on of his other of his 50 alts to attack you again.
He has done it to me when I have not even engaged him in a conversation (go back and check and you will see) but has a shot at me to try to engage in some sort of futile battle of so called wits.
This is very frustrating for myself and the others....apparently with charlim it has been going on for over 4 years from what she said.
What the hell are we meant to do then? Just put up with it?
What you fail to realize is downvoting does nothing when people have multiple accounts to quickly upvote and negate the downvote. Surely you can understand this.
Then just don't take the voting thing so seriously. Do you really need to be validated that much? Is having three or more upvotes-to an offensive comment THAT big a deal?
I had to deal with Thumbasses who werent trolls but had their own little "in-group" do the same and mock me in the replies between eachother, Charli, if I'm not mistaken, sometimes added to that. Sure I had a bitch about it but I matured and realized that I don't need to have a little number of 1-5 people saying I'm right to show I'm making a valid or invalid point.
You guys are your own worse enemies. You want to "burn" the troll and have the troll not able to respond in-kind. That's just not going to happen, they can be banned and just make another account.
The ONLY solution is to have some pride in your maturity and ignore it. Try to get the last word? You lose. Try to burn the troll, you lose. Make the troll bored, then you win.
But if you're expecting udi to somehow magically be the first person to find a way to make the site 100% fullproof against trolls then you're delusional, and if you expect him to manage that and then belittle and insult him for something NOBODY HAS BEEN ABLE ACHIEVE IN THE HISTORY OF THE INTERNET, then people like myself are just going to lose sympathy.
Maybe there's more to this but I've already lost sympathy for certain folk being trolled because they expect Udi to do the impossible yet won't stick to the things that makes the troll leave them alone possible.
Is it normal to wonder how the new Block feature works?
